Frequently Asked Questions

Some therapy considerations require time in sessions, such as feelings of trust and connection, and how much value you’re getting out of our time together. Here are a few of the most common questions I receive, to consider before we schedule your initial session.

  • I provide individual therapy for adults and teens. Your reason for being here is personal to you, and I don’t require specific diagnostic criteria to work together. Please however, keep in mind that my practice is a non-emergency service.

  • You are not required to have any experience with meditation, nor are you required to meditate. Mindfulness-based therapy can simply be about how I’m showing up for you in sessions. Mindfulness can be practiced in formal and informal ways, and I would love to teach you practices to do at home or together, always within the bounds of your choice.

  • Yes, I see clients in my Longmont therapy office. I believe therapy is best conducted in a private setting, in-person, with minimal distractions. However, I understand that for a number of reasons, client may need to see me virtually. I offer a convenient way to choose in-person sessions, video sessions, or some hybrid of both.

  • We will discuss your goals, including what feels like an appropriate amount of sessions. Most of my clients begin by seeing me weekly or biweekly. Therapy can be short-term or long-term, lasting weeks, months, or even years. You consent to each session, and we will celebrate your growth when our time comes to an end.

  • The cost of therapy depends on the frequency and duration of our time together. My rate is $175 per 50-minute session. Payment is due at the time of service. I accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, checks and cash payments.

  • I am currently in-network with Aetna. For all other insurances, I am considered an “out-of-network provider” and can provide a “superbill” — the required documentation for out-of-network (OON) reimbursement. Please review your insurance plan if you intend to pursue out-of-network benefits. I do not bill Medicaid.

  • I require at least 48-hour notice to cancel an appointment without being charged for the session. Clients schedule sessions based on availability, and a session scheduled for one is a session made unavailable to another. Please let me know if scheduling challenges might compromise our time together.
